Employment History


I am currently employed as Media Music Manger for the publisher Faber Music. I am responsible for all matters relating to film, television and media music within the company.

Composer management
Promotion of catalogue for sync and 3rd party use
Development of new business
Management of soundtrack releases
Management of Faber's music supervision service
Overseeing composer commissions and contracts
Responsible for all 3rd party licensing agreements
Running all existing relationship with library music partners including development and creation of the Faber Music Production Library in association with Altitude Music

APRIL 2010 – OCTOBER 2012

SMILE FOR LONDON – As part of Smile For London I worked on the development and production of motion art exhibitions on the London Underground network. The main exhibition, Word In Motion, launched in January 2012 and featured animated poetry and prose from writers such as Kate Tempest, Murray Lachlan Young, Suggs & Roots Manuva and was seen by around 1.5million commuters a day. My role at Smile was mainly marketing & P.R. and liaising with artists and contributors. I was also responsible for all web management and content.

CYNIC RECORDS - Label Manager. Responsible for all the day to day running of Cynic Records, a small independent dance label. Particular emphasis was made on expanding Cynic in the digital market. This was achieved with great success and made a significant impact on revenue. Distribution deals were successfully made with IODA and Word & Sound in Germany which increased the global reach and profile of the label. Another important aspect of the role was to develop synch and licensing opportunities for the label which resulted in Cynic tracks being used on global advertising campaigns.

CLAREMONT 56 RECORDS – I worked with Claremont 56 since its inception and advised and assisted with the running of the label. A particular emphasis was made on the digital arena and the labels profile which has had a very positive affect on physical sales. Synch was also very strong priority and the promotion of the catalogue proved very successful.

Other significant freelance contracts include work for Demon Music Group, IPC Media and the development of Sound Advice UK.


JUNE 2007 – OCTOBER 2009

During my time with Universal Music Catalogue I was responsible for the development and implementation of the Lost Tunes ( download store which won Digital Achievement of the Year at the 2009 Music Week Awards. I also ran digital marketing campaigns and product managed exclusive on-line releases for many artists including Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and Siouxsie Sioux.
During this time I had an annual sales target of £5m and by the end of the financial year had exceeded the revenue target by 180%.

Job Role:
Responsible for the content and marketing strategy of the Lost Tunes store.
Developing the exposure and presence of catalogue artists in the digital market to achieve budget and increase revenues.
Working alongside product managers to ensure smooth running of all digital releases and marketing campaigns.
Implementation and development of all new digital initiatives and technologies within UMC.
Building relationships and maintaining proactive contact with third parties (eg Apple, Spotify) and providing content to promote and expose Universal acts online and via mobile.
Exploit and build the target community of music fans so as to understand, communicate and interact with them, helping them to engage with artists and products and drive sales.


2002 – 2007

Whilst at Sky television I worked on many high profile projects and was responsible for the sourcing and use of music for the Premiership football promotional campaigns. I was also responsible for all music use on in-house promotional campaigns for Sky One and Sky Movies, including Deadwood and Cold Case which won Promax awards.

Job Role:
Sourcing and synching music for broadcast use across the Sky television network including promotional trailers, title sequences and sporting events.
Proactively forming and maintaining good contacts with major and independent record companies, plugging companies, promotional companies, production libraries and composers to ensure a varied and high standard of music was available to production teams.
Working with copyright and licensing team and taking an active role in this process to ensure all music was licensed and all copyright and publishing issues cleared prior to broadcast.
Working closely with creative and production teams by assisting with the synchronisation and editing of music to ensure the right dynamic and mood was created for the relevant project.
Commissioning of original music from composers for use on Sky televisions in-house production company, SATV.
Management and training of small team of staff.


1996 – 2002

Job Role:
Using specialist music knowledge to evaluate and buy in stock and maintain a high standard of product was available to the customer.
Store accounting
Training and supervision of staff.


In addition to the above roles I have produced my own music, both electronic and live, and am experienced in the sound recording process. I have released this music for various small, independent labels and have assisted in the running of two independent record labels, Session Recordings and Big Bear Records being mainly responsible for marketing and promotional campaigns and initiatives.
I have also promoted a variety of successful club nights in London and Southampton.
As well as the above I have written features and articles for a variety of magazines and fanzines including, Muzik, Fact and ID.
