Star Wars 8: A Rare Glimpse Behind-the-Scenes

With its premiere less than a year away, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson delighted fans yesterday with a behind-the-scenes photo shared to his personal Tumblr account.  The picture shows a line of Stormtroopers standing and awaiting orders and offers a tanatlizing glipse into the eagerly-awaited eighth instalment of the behemoth movie franchise.

This is the first time Johnson has shared a set photo since last June, towards the end of filming, when he posted a shot of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi robe, captioned “In the home stretch.”  He also shared a glimpse of the film’s iconic opening text crawl from the edit room, but otherwise has kept fans guessing as to the direction the film will take.

In between posting these candid shots and putting the finishing touches to the movie, Johnson is also taking time out to host a panel with producer Kathleen Kennedy at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, with rumors that a premiere a teaser trailer might even be shared there!
