FEATURED: Richard Schenkman, Director, Producer

Here at Media Match we're consistently blown away by the wealth of skilled and experienced people who use the service every day, so we thought it was high time we turned the spotlight on our members to showcase some of the great talent we have on the site.

Today, we're featuring RICHARD SCHENKMAN, prolific Writer, Director & Producer.  His first feature film was The Pompatus of Love, which he wrote with Jon Cryer & Adam Oliensis. It was released theatrically in 1995 and garnered great reviews. He went on to direct the action/drama October 22 for Nu Image/Millenium Films which he followed up with Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God...Be Back by Five, another collaboration with Jon Cryer. It won various awards on the festival circuit and was theatrically released. 

He wrote and directed VH1's original movie A Diva's Christmas Carol, which was a holiday ratings blockbuster and continues to air annually. He took a multi-year break when his daughter was born however he did teach a Master Class for the Rhode Island International Film Festival and guest lectured at both USC and California Arts. He also created "Drama Queen", an NBC sitcom for Vanessa Williams, and completed several spec screenplays with Jon Cryer, including "Cosmodrome", currently being developed as a TV series for Warner Bros.

In 2010 he published his first novel for children, "The Girl From Atlantis".  This year his new children's book, "The Empress's New Shoes" will be published.
