Did you know that you can select additional Job Types and Locations in order to widen your search for a job in the film and tv industry? Whilst these job types won’t show up on your résumé, they will help power the tailored emails and alerts you will receive in future.
Firstly, log into Media Match as per usual.
Next, click on “My Profile” via the top toolbar, then click on “Email Settings” from the Privacy and Account Settings in the right hand menu, and then click on the “Job Types” tab at the top of your profile. (fig. 1)
You will see a list of sub-sections in which we have classified the main job titles. Each sub-section is a drop down menu under which there are several Job Types with check boxes. You can select a total of 10 Job Types, in any combination of the sub-sections. Don’t forget to click “Update” after making your selections. (fig. 2)
You can also click on the “Location” tab at the top of your profile. This will now display an interactive map of the US States, as well as a list with check boxes. You can use either tool to make your selection - again, you are allowed a maximum of 10. Again, click on the blue “Update” button once you have made your selection. (fig. 3)
These new selections will help expand your email and social alerts into similar and new areas, hopefully helping you find new positions of interest to which you can apply. Any further questions, feedback or problems please post below.
