About the Job
We are currently seeking a VP, Celebrity Talent. The Talent Executive has booking duties for all of our branded platforms’ daily live shows as well as the live specials, award shows, marketing projects, and all network talent related programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing, maintaining and developing relationships between public relations firms, studios, other networks, celebrity agents and managers.
Research TV, Film, Publishing, Entertainment and Lifestyle segments which fit the demographic and pitching necessary talent, and ideas to all shows and a variety of cross-platform themed programming on the network.
Generate awareness and publicize MTV channel programming and event opportunities to a variety of public relations firms, agents, managers and talent.
Manage in-studio celebrity and guest appearances, set visits and junkets and follow-up with supporting materials to reinforce the MTV brand experience.
Bring outside pitches as well as original ideas to pitch meetings.
Create an organized communication system for the development, scheduling and tracking of all celebrity & high profile guest interviews and segments.
Be available to travel and go on location for all segments involved in booking.
Other responsibilities assigned as needed.
Required Skills:
7 - 10 years experience in entertainment, television booking or as a talent executive.
Must have well-established contacts with talent publicists, agencies, personal management firms, publicists and production.
Must have solid editorial judgment. Background in producing, writing, content development a plus.
A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a very high-volume workload.
Dynamic personality and superior social skills
Solid negotiation and presentation skills
Variety of well-established industry relationships
Ease in creating and developing new associations
Strategic interaction with programming executives, producers and talent
Must be proactive and a self-starter, demonstrating leadership, integrity and professionalism in daily activities
Ability to manage a highly stressful environment
Must be a team player with excellent communication
Must be professional, outgoing, proactive and creative at all times
Ability to problem solve
