POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Studio Operations Manager this position will provide technical direction for nightly sports news shows, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins pre and post game shows and other NESN programs. This position will also work as part of a team to improve and enhance the technical quality and creativity of these shows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work closely with directors, producers and production staff on daily preproduction and other programming to ensure and oversee a high-production value and high technical standards
•Switch nightly sports news shows and pre and post game shows for Red Sox and Bruins broadcasts using Sony MVS8000 HD switcher
•Ensure technical staff is prepared and prepped for all productions
•Act as a liaison to the Engineering department regarding technical problems in the studio and control rooms. Report technical issues to Studio Operations Manager and/or Engineering staff and follow through on the resolution of these problems
•Fill in as Studio Director/TD as needed
•Successfully complete other related tasks and projects as needed
•Work nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed

Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must have at least 2 years of experience as a technical director, for live show programming
•5+ years of experience in television production to include a strong understanding of the entire production process
•2+ years of Sony MVS8000 experience required
•Proficiency with DME, and EVS Spotbox a must.
•Solid experience switching multi-camera, HD studio programs and working with multi venue studios requiring multiple monitor feeds.
•Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
•Must have a high level of creativity, energy, and flexibility
•Strong ability to work cooperatively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high pressure studio environment and to remain calm under pressure
•Ability to work in a loosely structured, growing and changing work environment
•Must possess a positive attitude.
•Good knowledge of sports (emphasis on New England).
•Must be flexible and able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
