SEASONAL WEB COORDINATOR
The Web Department designs, develops and maintains the the Film Festival website and e-mail newsletters, leading up to and during the Festival. Prospective applicants should be comfortable with both hands-on, in-house production and supporting vendor relationships.
Projects include developing, maintaining, and monitoring the film guide and online ticketing engine; developing exclusive online content; and exploring new technologies and digital ventures. Fulfilling sponsorship agreements and paid advertisement deals is a major focus.
DUTIES:
- Assist the web team in developing, operating and maintaining the TFF web site and e-mail newsletters.
- Post content, make corrections, encode video for the web, and perform QA.
- Assist with the creation of new sections and development of new site features.
- Must be prepared for long hours and some weekend work (especially during the Festival).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a commercial web production environment.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Photoshop.
- Understanding of workflow and editing in a Content Management System.
- Basic video editing and encoding for the web.
- HTML and CSS editing of e-mail newsletter.
- Light design of online materials may be required.
- Flash/ActionScript and design skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with ad serving for newsletter and website.
REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Effective time management and multi-tasking in a deadline intensive environment.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of technical and non-technical staff, using strong oral and written communication skills.
- Independent film background is a plus, and strong knowledge of movies and broader creative culture is mandatory.
