About the Job
The Production coordinator works with the Producer to manage the work flow. He/she assists the producer in tracking all commercial jobs from start to finish, working especially on tracking distribution to outside vendors, and flow within the various departments. This person relays pertinent information to staff and freelance artist regarding schedules and expectations, coordination between in-house departments such as art, stage, cg, and editorial, and makes sure that the appropriate communication occurs between these people/entities and the producer. Assists the Producer in many other production tasks, including shipping, supplies, purchase orders, travel, staffing, pitches, portfolio reviews, and organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Tracks animation from animatics through delivery of video master
Maintains and updates crew lists/monitoring
Communicates with free-lance and staff artists/animators concerning schedules and specific instructions from directors and animators and/or producers.
Assists directors, animators and crew when necessary with supplies, schedules, etc.
Assists producer in finding freelancers, organizing portfolios and correspondence.
Arranges for or runs errands including, but not limited to, working meals, client services and general production errands
Records and distributes necessary notes, schedules or any other necessary information
Distributes production elements including storyboards and shipped tapes and film
Tracks received production elements
Handles/coordinates shipping of all materials
Makes travel arrangements
Assists producers, and directors with miscellaneous tasks
Reviewing distribution of work with producer and supervising distribution to other project assistants as well as outside free-lancers
Qualifications
B.S./B.A. in film, art or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
Demonstrated ability to prioritize
Ability to juggle various priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Detail oriented
Working knowledge of MS Office programs
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Prior production experience
Knowledge of additional graphic design and layout programs a plus
Previous experience working in commercial animation a plus
