About the Job
We are looking for an entry-level, online writer/traffic specialist to work a hybrid position, which will split duties between the content side and the sales side of the department. This is a full-time position which requires working on both Saturday and Sunday and includes some holidays. The online writer duties consist of updating the sites , writing stories, editing copy from television scripts and wire content, as well as posting images and video. Candidates must possess solid news judgment, writing and organizational skills and have the ability to react to and post breaking news quickly.
The traffic specialist duties include supporting the interactive sales efforts for all sites, trafficking ads, monitoring delivery, and pulling wrap-up reports for display ads, video ads, streaming ads and email blasts. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Candidates should have an understanding of the Internet and social media. A college degree in communications and/or a background in journalism is preferred, but not required. Please provide writing samples when applying.
