Responsibilities:
We're searching for a creditable and qualified on air news anchor/reporter with a great personality who can accurate report the top stories of the day. We need more than a teleprompter reader, we need a team player with initiative who stays informed on current affairs and can report with authority on a variety of subject matters. Our new anchor/reporter must have strong story ideas of their own they're willing to share. In addition to reporting the daily top stories our news anchor/reporter works on the front line in our Breaking News Center. You'll be the first on the air with all the developments of the day. Our anchor/reporter also works closely with multiple website producers and newspaper reporters to continually update our audience. Qualified candidates must be able to describe events and breaking news happening during live broadcasts, integrating factual information in a compelling story telling style, have conversational script writing abilities, be able to edit and must work seamlessly with EP, show producers and other on air talent and staff.


REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience and 2-4 years broadcast experience in a medium to large market. Our on air news reporter will posses a strong journalistic background, excellent writing abilities and organizational skills. Candidate must be able to accept constructive direction designed to enhance individual performance. Candidate must be reliable, willing to work early morning shift and perform duties under tight deadlines. Occasionally WSFL will require individuals to leave the building to cover news stories, be available to be assigned to all broadcasts and maybe required to work additional hours, days, weekends and holidays. Final Cut Pro and ENPS experience is a plus.
