About the Job
We have an opening for an experienced Photojournalist. The ideal candidate will lead the team of photojournalists in the creative and technical aspects of photojournalism. Candidate will be responsible for coordination and the maintenance of the archive video and equipment and is responsible for the leading role in coaching and training as well as interviewing potential candidates for any new photojournalist openings. Candidate will also be responsible for management of the news vehicle fleet including routine car and maintenance, inspection, registrations to ensure smooth newsgathering operations. Will work independently or as part of a team to create pictures and sound which accurately and fairly represent the news, recording raw video and audio and turning it into finished product as well as shooting live action suitable for distribution on the Noticias Univision Colorado services. Candidate will also be responsible for assigning equipment, including cameras, lights and peripheral gear in good working order, initiating repairs when necessary, and editing video and audio material for broadcast. Position requires responding to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations as well as participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree or equivalent Photojournalist experience as well as eight years experience in television news gathering and/or production preferred. Must have knowledge of television newsgathering practices, ability to train and coach staff and proficiency in news judgment and photojournalism standards. Should have a knowledge of news production techniques, and equipment and technical standards as well as knowledge of applicable laws related to photojournalism. Must be proficient in Spanish. A valid drivers license with a good driving record as well, ability to carry up to 50 lbs, drive a live truck and perform live shots. Flexibility to work any assigned shift is required.
