Posting Job Description Qualifications: Entry level position. BA/BS in journalism, communications or related discipline. Television/Broadcasting background is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Able to juggle many tasks at once. Candidates must be well organized, patient and able to multi-task and to follow directions. Some experience to TV preferred.

Duties: Assists in all aspect of the newsgathering process with emphasis on making calls for breaking and on-going stories, research for producers and reporters, logging and finding videotape. News Assistants serve as the face of CNN to the many guests who appear on air in the New York bureau, making sure they are taken care of from entry to the building, to the studio and coordination with Atlanta control rooms to departure. Additional duties include: printing and running scripts, teleprompting for live shows and cut-ins, answering phones and other clerical duties. Occasionally there may be opportunities to assist in field newsgathering and write for wires.cnn.
