JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of the on-air product ensuring the transmission meets company, network and government regulations. This position sets up, controls and monitors television broadcasting equipment to transmit television programs and station breaks to viewing audience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review television programming log to ascertain name of program or station break and what time the program or station break is scheduled to air. Use automation to execute playback of programming and commercials as indicated on the program log.
• Manage air stations ensuring that correct items are cued and run as scheduled.
• Trim shows, commercial spots and rolling feeds to meet scheduling objectives.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing delivery of commercial announcements via digital delivery systems.
• Dub commercials and promotions to server for air.
• Set up digital microwave system in order to receive feeds and live shots from various news bureaus and live trucks.
• Set up and record satellite feeds as needed for programming and/or news usage.
• Monitor live shows and sporting events and follow specific procedures for manually running local commercials.
• Perform routine inventory management on playout server.
• Monitor various outlets of transmission, including, but not limited to, over the air broadcasts and cable. Operator must be able to ascertain problems with transmission, such as loss of audio, video or closed captioning.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and contact the necessary parties for resolution.


Physical Demands, Work Conditions and Environment:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
