About the Job

I’m looking for graphics person to do Photoshop and After Effects work on a PBS documentary called Faces of America. The workload is fairly conventional: “aging” documents (i.e. census records and articles from microfiche) and moves on stills (taking your cue from what was done by the editors). However, it will be upwards of 225 stills/documents and most of the work will between Thanksgiving and New Years. (I don’t mean to paint an ugly picture but I don’t want to mislead anyone either.)

The first part of this gig would ideally happen in our edit rooms. You’d bring a laptop and we’d provide a drive full of stills. You’d work closely with the editors until they got a groove with you, then you could continue to work in our space or work offsite.

It would begin as fulltime work and after the New Year taper down. In fact it would taper down so much, we’d like to start with a weekly rate and after the holidays switch to an hourly rate.

The Good News: Your work will be aired over four consecutive weeks in February, 2010. There’s six producers and four editors, so networking opportunities are abundant. I think we’re a very focused bunch, interested in making quality nonfiction TV.

If your interested and available, please drop me a line and send a resume.

Sorry but this vacancy has now been filled.
