About the Job
Assigned to one or more sports, the Financial Analyst provides real-time financial analysis and decision support services to his production client(s). Completes forecasting and tracking for various remote sports. Responsible for accounting close responsibilities and assisting with various financial reporting and compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Conduct special and ongoing analyses of such activities as budgeting, forecasting, program cost tracking, talent utilization, and cost trending for assigned tasks, events and/or sports. Creates the rationale and conducts analyses that support strategic decisions analyses and proactive planning for events and/or sports. Researches and identifies trends related to the costs associated with assigned areas of responsibility. Makes recommendations on opportunities to operate efficiently and provides cost impact of alternative scenarios Prepares account reconciliations as assigned, understands reconciling items, and compiles related account variance analysis. Responsible for coordinating and preparing the closing accrual files for various ESPN networks. This includes the review of the closing package, the comparison of budgeted information to actual expense, and the preparation of all accrual journal entries. Prepares or participates in the compliance of Sarbanes Oxley requirements and initiatives. Assists with completion of federal and state tax packages and DMD schedules.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in a related subject matter field preferable – Public Accounting Experience a plus. Financial modeling (strong Excel skills). Database warehousing and mining.

Presentation skills. SAP experience preferred. Analytical skills. Client service skills. Ability to prepare and present information to support decision making.
Required Education
Finance or Accounting degree.
