About the Job
The Engineering Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Assurance group within corporate engineering. This group monitors television signal distribution for all ION Media Networks feeds and owned and operated stations. It has a service oriented focus, providing assistance to help maintain systems and diagnose problems, as well as react in emergency situations. This group operates multiple shifts in order to maintain 24/7 coverage.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•HS Diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred
•5 years work experience in related field
•Basic knowledge of broadcast distribution and IT systems and technologies.
•Experience managing a service oriented group (customer service, call center, etc.)
•Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to write comprehensive test reports
•Proficient with standard office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
•Demonstrated ability to remain focused and guide employees in emergency situations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage a group of QA operators who maintain 24/7 monitoring of all network and station feeds.
•Maintain and execute a system of providing real-time outage reports for executive management
•Evaluate operational data and write reports as assigned
•Participate in a rotation of off hour emergency response engineers
•Assist in troubleshooting technical issues in the field
•Participate with other engineering departments in creating and executing continuous improvement quality initiatives
•Assist other corporate departments with engineering related projects, including the deployment of new equipment and systems to the field
•Other duties as assigned
•Occasional travel to other ION sites is not typical, but may be required.
