We have an immediate opening for a Full Time Editor/Producer.
This position works with Production, Sales and News Department.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Production of commercials, PSAs and on-air promotions, and special events coverage. Operate cameras, lighting, audio, editing and other equipment needed for completion of project on a daily basis. Non linear editor; able to write record and edit video segments for different shows and commercials. Responsible for the editing equipment and edit bays. Coordination of production activities. Facilitate information to other departments. Technical support of News and other station activities. Technical and physical support to other station activities.
Additional Duties: Production of on-air product. Production of promotional print. Consulting on post production of projects. Coordination and scheduling of production activities. Communication and follow through with production, sales and clients. Editing, graphics, CG other technical duties. Technical support. Attends station events as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Must maintain a good driving record.
Organizational Relationships: Will work closely with photographers, producers, coordinator, video editors, graphics operator, technical director, account executives, sales managers and operations manager. Educational Requirements: Degree in Communications, Radio/Television, Journalism, or related field preferred, or 2 years of equivalent experience required. Workshops, seminars, or continuing education in production a plus. Knowledge of current developments in technology, writing, graphics, editing, and video filming a plus.
Experience Requirements: Must have 2 years experience in a production department. Language Requirements: Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish) written and oral required. Exceptional writing and computer skills. Able to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to all levels of management.
Minimum Qualifications for Consideration: Personal computer experience required Able to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure. Must be flexible and available to work weekends and/or extra hours. Ability to follow instructions from Coordinator and/or the Director. Must be able to multi-task, be an effective communicator, be self-motivated, and well organized, and have excellent personal interaction skills. Must be willing to provide coverage for special events. Ability to use production equipment, camera, lighting, etc. Capable of utilizing post production equipment, editing, linear and non-linear, graphics, CG, studio equipment, lighting, audio and other television production equipment. Must have a good driving record. Specific equipment used to perform job: PC /MAC computer, AVID, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Microsoft Word. Camera P2, DVC pro and XL1, lighting, graphics, editor, fax, copier, CG, other equipment as needed. Interested parties should send resume with non-returnable demo reel (optional).
