EDITOR for Short Film

About the Job

We're looking for an editor for a dramatic short film about a sister and her drug-addicted brother in a confrontation that turns life-threatening between them.

The footage was shot with the RED EPIC camera so the editor must use Premiere CS5.5 to edit. Ideally, the editor has experience with sound editing and mixing.

There's 2 hours of footage, we've already cut the fat so you'd be working with takes the director likes. The length of the film will be around 10 minutes. Some dialogue goes off script so must be able to work creatively to make the cut work well. Editor must be flexible, easy to work with, take direction and offer any ideas that may make the short film work better.

We're looking for someone who can be a team player to collaborate with the director for this film and future projects. Must be able to work full-time on this project and need to be located in Los Angeles.

We're estimating one week for full-on editing for the first cut and one week to complete whatever revisions the director needs. A total of two weeks.

Total budget for this short film edit is $300. We know its not much for the amount of work it will take, but for this short film everybody is sacrificing somehow to make a great piece of work. We aim to be making big projects in the near future. The final look of the film will be black and white and will have some vfx with stop motion.
