Summary

The Digital Imaging Camera Technician, is a Full Time position responsible for preparing and maintaining our digital and analog rental equipment. This person will work directly with the camera rental supervisor coordinating the digital inventory, fine tuning the orders with the customers and answering workflow questions. Rental orders will be input into the computer system and returned equipment will be checked in and qualified for operational status.

This position involves servicing of professional analog and digital motion picture camera & video equipment and accessories, such as the Arri 435, 416 Arricam LT, Arriflex D-21, Alexa EV, Phantom HS and Weisscam HS cameras. S-TWO, SRW-1, AJA Ki-Pro and other digital storage equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Service, maintenance and repair of analog and digital equipment, verifying its operational performance and set-up.
• Troubleshooting and identifying equipment issues, software and firmware updates and facilitating repairs through our service group.
• Assist with equipment issues or malfunctioning inventory while on rental.
• Quality control and evaluation of new equipment for future inventory purchases.
• Participation in demos and workshops on digital equipment for potential rental clients
• Assist in preparation of equipment packages for rental
• Participate on R&D projects in the area of digital imaging
• Provide feedback and input about necessary technical information and updates
• Support in–house staff training on digital imaging and digital technology

Qualifications/ Required Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in servicing and repairing of professional digital camera and recording equipment is required.
• Detailed knowledge of 35mm motion picture cameras, lenses and accessories is required.
• Candidate must have strong computer skills in both MAC and PC
• Exceptional Customer Service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
• Excellent communication skills and the capability to explain and communicate about complex technical matters is required
• Solid understanding of post production workflows including non-linear editing and color correction preferred
• Some travel required



Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work seated at a desk for up to 3 hours at a time and to operate a keyboard.
Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds is required. Proper lifting techniques are required. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
