• One to two years experience in the entertainment industry. Previous experience in television production, agency, or broadcast/cable network preferred
• Strong development and show creation skills
• Interest and appreciation for reality television is a must
• Superb written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills. Strong aptitude in research.
• Must be a self-starter with strong leadership, motivational skills and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to multi-task while prioritizing projects and time as needed
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Computer literacy and database aptitude a must, knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Development and is based in the Los Angeles office. One to two years experience in the entertainment industry is required. The Development Coordinator is an integral part of the Development team, participating in the creation and development of innovative unscripted series for broadcast and cable networks. From writing treatments to producing trailers, the Development Coordinator will support every stage of series development. This position is full time and offers a competitive salary with benefits.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support creation and conceptualization of original series
• Participate in brainstorm sessions to generate new show ideas
• Identify trends in pop culture and new formats in the television marketplace
• Work closely with production management team to coordinate production and casting for development projects
• Compile and organize research for all active projects
• Media coverage—Identify stories of interest in broadcast and print media publications for both domestic and international markets. (‘Stories of Interest’ include any stories you think may spark a reality show idea).
• Support execution of projects’ development materials, this includes: research and review for final treatments, trailer sales-tapes, scripts, production schedules, and other development items
• Attend pitch meetings, conferences, agency calls, and talent scouts
• Oversee development grid and track status of projects
• As needed, work closely with assistants on administrative tasks that pertain to the organization of development projects
