Broadcast Communication Intern - City of Kirkland

Minimum Salary: $12.32 per hour Maximum Salary: $13.39 per hour Employment Type: Internship Department: Information Technology Closes: September 16, 2010 at 11:30 PM (Open to current employees and the general public.) Summary: Excellent opportunity to be on-camera as you create television programming for the City of Kirklands citizens. The Broadcast Communication Intern researches issues, writes television scripts, helps deliver scripts on-camera, and assists with editing and preparing shows for production on Kirklands government cable channels. Successful interns will learn several skills required to produce community television news shows and will emerge with an impressive portfolio of programming footage. Hours of Work Approximately 10 hours per week with potential for additional hours during holiday breaks and summer months, flexible schedule. Minimum Qualifications Current enrollment in a community college or undergraduate program focused on communications, broadcasting or a related field of study is required. Junior or senior university standing or second year students at community colleges and trade schools preferred. Working Conditions & Physical Activities Duties are performed in a television production environment indoors and on-site outdoors, including field productions in the greater Kirkland community. Work requires standing or sitting for long periods of time, up to two hours or more.
