Associate Producer

About the Job

The Associate Producer is considered to be the master strategist for production and is responsible for the timely delivery of the movie and on budget. He/she ensures that the schedule, budget and scope are all aligned while managing studio directives and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
• Responsible for getting creative inventory in the pipeline. Work with Producers and Directors to ensure approved story reel sequences from Editorial are delivered on time to production. Ensure that alternate plans are provided in the event changes to anticipated story reel turnover happens.
• Create and manage the overall show budget and schedule. Work closely with Production Manager and Accountant to ensure that the budget and schedules are accurate and up-to-date.
• Develop and maintain complexity plans and their impact to the budget. Work with Production Manager on a complexity plan that works within the framework of the budget and schedule.
• Supervise the key creative leadership team of the show (i.e. Head of Layout, Head of Character Animation, VFX Supervisor, Production Designer, Production Manager, Head of Story and Editor). Manage the Production Supervisors of the departments that directly report to the Associate Producer.

The ideal candidate will have:
• 7-10 years of production experience as well as managerial experience in a production environment.
• Must be a well-organized, self-motivated individual who functions well in fast-paced, high energy environment.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Scheduling and budget experience a must
• Must have strong Excel skills
