About the Job
A Brooklyn-based multi-media company seeks an experienced Assistant Editor to work half and full-days with a director and producers in creating 4 rough-cuts for a new children’s video series. The series is a uniquely stimulating and enriching program that explores art and the environment, and creativity as a whole - through various forms (art, sculpture, design, music, yoga, movement) and city adventures that take place against the multi-cultural backdrop of Brooklyn and inside a very magical studio set.
The Assistant Editor should be proficient in Final Cut Pro 7 and be able to work fast and efficiently to manifest the alignment of footage and cuts per the precise direction and specs of the producers. Most important is the ability to follow direction with regards to the cut and to keep all media extremely well organized and backed up. The rough cut will then be provided to a Master Editor to produce a rough cut. A tight timeline and budget will be created for each rough cut at approximately 1 week per episode (3 full days, and 2 half days).
