About the Job
We have an immediate opening for an Assignments Editor to develop and maintain news assignments and resources. Responsibilities include develop and maintain news sources, conduct beat checks, develop story ideas, work closely with reporters and producers for story development and assignments for newscasts and assist with management of newsroom. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in news, be computer literate, and have excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to work as a team player. Familiarity with current local, state, & national events is a must; knowledge of Midland/Odessa area is preferred. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
