Art Department Head

About the Job

We are seeking a full-time Art Department Head to contribute to and oversee the Art Department which includes three interconnected teams: Graphic Design, Video Production, and Animation.

Job Requirements: Successful candidates will demonstrate each of the following:

• Experience with and knowledge of art design and production in all three areas of graphic design, video production, and animation

• Expertise in only one of these three areas is required, but some experience with each is needed

• Ability to navigate the entire creative product development process, turning design files into completed client deliverables (for both electronic and print applications)

• Highly organized—able to monitor and adhere to deadlines and able to oversee completion of multiple simultaneous projects

• Ability to work well in a team environment—excellent interpersonal communication and cooperation skills

• Experience managing artistic teams is a plus

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 5 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) at the design and production level; working knowledge of MS 2007

• Working knowledge of Flash and other animation software a plus

Degree/Experience Requirements: College degree in Design or a related field or equal experience. Strong, multi-faceted portfolio required for application.
