Record Store Day 2017 on BBC 6 Music

Lauren Laverne and BBC 6 Music will be honouring Record Store Day this Friday with a special live broadcast from Vinyl Tap Record Store in Huddersfield from 10am-1pm.

The show will include exclusive Record Store Day releases, live music, interviews and a special Prince inspired all-vinyl Desert Island Disco.  Mercury nominated artist Kate Tempest will be discussing her work as a Record Store Day Ambassador and her role as Guest Director at this year's Brighton Festival.

Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip will be hosting a special, live Desert Island Disco in honour of Prince to mark the one year anniversary of his death plus local band Fold will be live in session with Lauren.

"The 10th anniversary of Record Store Day is going to be a hugely special day," says Lauren. 
"I’m so pleased to be marking the occasion in Huddersfield at one of the most iconic record stores with some of the most talented people in the industry." 

Vinyl Tap will be open ot the public and visitors are welcome to watch the show being made, subject to space and availabilty.  The live show will be broadcast through speakers on the top floor.
