Job Posting Date: 10/30/09 The Manager, Financial Operations is a newly created position that will play a critical role in preparing, monitoring and managing our Media Broadcast Operations costs and budgets. Reporting to the VP of Media and Broadcast Operations, the Manager, Financial Operations will:
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for administrative departments, such as Technical Services, IT, Broadcast Station divisions as well as archive and capital projects;
• Consolidate all financial information for preparation of company forecasts and annual business plan;
• Bill and costing of all technical operations services, including studio, remote productions, editing, duplications, video encoding and central ingest;
• Input outside sales revenue information for business plan and forecasts;
• Budget use of internal utilization for business plan;
• Prepare and maintain on line reconciliation of expense activity;
• Work with Project Managers and department heads to ensure that all projects’ utilization of technical facilities are accurately and completely integrated into business plan;
• Reforecast actual against plan, anticipating and noting variances and recommending corrective action when possible;
• Prepare monthly reports on financial status of technical areas, IT and broadcast station;
• Analyze executed contracts and monitor company compliance with terms and deliverables;
• Perform other financial operations analysis at the direction of management;
• Administrative support for department as needed.
To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance and at least 3 years experience in budgeting/finance along with excellent mathematical, analytical, procedural and communication skills. Candidates should be proficient with PC related, integrated accounting and financial management systems, have strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Lawson and experience in a production environment will be preferred. |
