Job Posting Date: 10/21/09 The premier multi-lingual Asian television station in Los Angeles, is looking for an experienced broadcast engineer to round out our technical staff. The position is full time.
Summary: The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for daily maintenance and alignment of broadcast equipment, as well as for support for on-air production and IT. Main Duties include: -Performing daily maintenance and repair of studio technical facilities. -Assisting in training broadcast operators and editors. -Answering emergency maintenance and operation calls. -Assisting Information Technology staff with computer problems.
Requirements include: -Broad-based knowledge of television engineering and operations. -Understanding of basic electronic theory. -Ability to align and repaire DVC Pro and Beta SP tape machines. -Experience with Avid and Grass Valley editing systems, and Flip Factory. -Proficiency w/computers, including maintenance skills, knowledge of operating systems and networking, and ability to work with specific machine related software. -Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations. -A minimum of three years experience in television studio maintenance. -Two year college level electronic technical or computer training. Preferred: Certification by Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE). Work Schedule: Schedule may vary. Regular hours are 5:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. |
