We're a student crew shooting a low budget short about a high school girl who decides to live with her father after her parents divorce. Think Judy Blume meets Spike Lee. We're shooting HD, with a Stephen Soderbergh look. We'll be shooting entirely on location - mostly houses, cars, a school, and a grocery store, so the job is mostly costuming and simple props - maybe some repainting. We'd like someone who is interested in getting involved creatively to work with the DP and director to invent a strong and distinct look - something tied closely to reality, but reality as viewed by a girl going through puberty. The shoot is Sept 22-30. Ideally you'll get involved in preproduction ASAP and will be on set during the shoot as an art director. The film will be sent to festivals, and you will receive copies for your reel; during the shoot, we provide meals and expenses. The production design budget is around $500. Only expenses will be paid.
