I was always told when you go on an interview, dress good, I go I wear usually black dress pants, nice shoes, shirt, I look professional, I noticed lately people going for interviews ahead and behind me are dressed like they just came off the street, How do you dress for this type of work? as in interviews? may sound like a stupid question but perception is a big deal. Am I wrong to dress that way for an interview?

You better be dressed to kill. You're sitting in the human resources office waiting for the interview and in walks the corporation president. He won't even look at the tramps and bums, the boulevard's full of them, they sleep on the steps of the bank every night. Then he spots you in there for the janitor's job and hires you as personal assistant to the board of directors. Wise up and dress up; go broke paying for that new outfit and then get the job.

I always dress in a suit and tie no matter what. I've seen the same thing at the last few interviews that I've walked into. People coming in in khakis, a polo shirt and sneakers and looking like they just rolled out of bed. I think that you make a bigger impression the better you dress.

I got my friend an interview for an on set PA. He came in dressed to impressed in a suit. He looked completely out of place. I had to tell the AD's he was a good worker after they commented they werent to sure about him. They also wondered if he owned a pair of tennis shoes.
It is a good idea to dress nicely, but not over do it.

Thats crazy, If a person can afford to buy cloths that are professional, there should be no question, If the person has casual cloths, I can go to an interview, dressed in jeans, sandals, teeshirt, If thats what this biz is all about.
