Job Overview: The primary role for this position is to assist the video editor and assist in the overall post production process, from digital ingestion all the way through to final output and compression. The ideal candidate should possess the proper balance of technical proficiency and creativity. Each candidate should be self motivated and posses an eye for details.

Major Job responsibilities include: Capturing and logging media, preparing all assets for each edit session. Organizing and managing a vast amount of media for offline and online editors. Basic assemble editing, SFX and VO editing, animatics, movie compressions and DVD creation with basic menus. Prepping creative multi-layer effect-heavy rough cut edits for Online and Mix with the quality control check of all media assets dealt with. Quality control check of all media assets dealt with. Video post production general tasks, assisting the creative and technical leads on the team as needed.

Qualifications: Must understand linear and non-linear video editing concepts and techniques in order to meet the major job responsibilities. Well rounded understanding of most of the following: Digital Content Creation, film scripts, script notes, storyboards, animatics, shot logs, EDL management. Knowledge of Video and Audio hardware, signal flow, connectors, and HD/SD broadcast standards sizes and codecs. Basic understanding of 2D compositing. Software knowledge requirements Final Cut Pro 4.5 or later (6.2 preferred) DVD Studio Pro 3 or later (4 preferred) Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or later Bonus basic software knowledge not essential, but a plus Other Final Cut Studio applications like Motion, Color, Soundtrack After Effects 6.5 or later Other 2D/3D software basic understanding 2-4 years experience after relevant education (BA in video post production or related) or 4-6 without degree.

A Demo Reel is a plus for this position, but not a requirement. Reels should be no longer than 6 minutes with your best work at the beginning, submitted on DVD-Video, DVD-R (quicktime or WMV), Online, MiniDV, or DVCam. Demo reel should demonstrate these proficiencies. Creative storytelling Pacing Breadth of editorial styles Basic creative audio mixing with dialog, VO, music and sfx
