Set Design/Art Direction for SAG short, those with connections to prop houses and other prop/decor resources preferred. Pay: SAG short film rate Filming: Friday May 23 & Saturday May 24 in Los Angeles Untitled transgender comedy A ten-minute comedic short in which a transgender woman has to decide between telling her new boyfriend about her trans history, or walking away from all connections to her past. Lead character is a partially assimilated transgender woman seeking to leave behind her origins in gay clubs and showgirl revues in order to blend more fully into hetero society as an average female. Her apartment begins outrageously decorated with garish fabrics, knickknacks, mementos from her showgirl days and relics from the gay culture which adopted her during her transition. By the end of the film, the apartment is stripped down to the most spare, plain and dull look possible. Lead character is an otherwise passable trans woman who is being held back by this garish apartment. Think color, humor and visual details.
