The ABC affiliate in Colorado Springs has an immediate opening for a Reporter. We are looking for a high-energy reporter, a self-starter with leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Gathering information, shooting, writing, producing, editing and presenting stories as assigned.
Ø Maintaining contacts with assigned beats and contributing story ideas and suggestions.
Ø Following up on stories to find new developments.
Ø Maintaining a good knowledge of local events and issues.
Ø Seeking out newsworthy people and events.
Ø Representing the station at public events.
Ø Rewriting and placing stories on the station website.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a degree in journalism, broadcasting or related field and have at least two years experience as a reporter. Must be a creative writer and excellent storyteller; have strong live reporting skills; must know how to develop contacts and break news stories. Shooting experience is a plus as performing as a video journalist may be required at times.
