We are looking for a documentary filmmaker/editor to create a series of behind the scenes webisodes for our feature film Bamboo Shark, a hilarious screwball comedy which stars Academy Award winner Mickey Rooney, Johnny “Roastbeef” Williams of Goodfellas fame, and over 50 celebrity impersonators. The documentary filmmaker will be responsible for creating twelve webisodes that run 3-4 minutes in length. The webisodes will be primarily featured on our main website mentalwardfilms.com, but will also appear Youtube and MySpace sites to help support the 24,000 people that are following us. We also plan to include the webisodes on the eventual DVD release of Bamboo Shark as well.
The first month of employment will be spent reviewing the many hours of behind the scenes video and interviews already shot. Then June 20th through the 22nd, you will be invited onto our set where you will be given exclusive access to our actors and crew for additional interviews. You will also be allowed to film any additional behind the scenes material that you want to help tell your story. Camera, lights, and sound equipment will be provided, along with a couple of crew members.
After that, you will need to start editing and delivering your first episode by July 31st and the last episode by September 30th. You must own your own editing equipment and be using professional editing software like Final Cut Pro or Vegas Video. The right candidate must also be available for the film shoot in June and have a strong ability to tell a story visually, while keeping the story interesting and amusing.
You can also email us your resume and cover letter and provide us a digital link to your online reel. The job pays $17 an hour, part time 10-15 hours a week, except the week of production in June, and then you can work up to 40 hours. Although the job technically ends on September 30th, the opportunity does exist for future work other projects projects.
