We are currently seeking a Broadcast Engineer who is interested in working for a Public Television Station in Chicago that is on the cutting edge with state of the art technology and relevant broadcasts. We have just moved into a brand new facility and is looking for an experienced Sound Engineer that is interested in developing his/her career.
Our Sound Engineers perform corrective and preventive maintenance on studio, transmitter, microwave and satellite equipment including:
Install and maintain equipment at transmitter and studio sites.
Assist in planning and design of transmitter and studio site equipment and facility modifications and additions.
Aid in maintaining parts inventory for repairs and operations; keeps studio and transmitter sites clean; picks up and delivers equipment and/or parts to station facilities or vendors as needed.
Prepare weekly transmitter inspection log at transmitter site according to FCC regulations.
Ensure compliance with and enforcement of FCC technical regulations.
On call after hours at the discretion of the Chief Engineer for station equipment emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field supplemented by five (5) years of broadcast engineering experience.
Must possess a current Illinois driver’s license.
Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and repairs on all broadcast equipment.
Certification of engineering aptitude (SBE or FCC certification accepted).
Advanced education in technology or electric engineering preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Working knowledge of computer hardware and software as well as digital technologies; experience in television systems integration.
Some mechanical drawing and architectural experience is preferred.
