An Applications Engineer is responsible for leading all technical aspects of an Autodesk sales campaign. The Applications Engineer uses in-depth industry and software knowledge to demonstrate product and associated workflow, uncover customer business issues and suggest improvements, thus earning status as a trusted advisor with the customer. The Applications Engineer meets with individuals at all levels in the customer, from executives to end users, in order to understand issues and discuss solutions while evaluating areas of opportunity for expanded implementation of Autodesk solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
*Competently demonstrate the features and workflow of Autodesk Flame, Inferno and/or Smoke.
*Be familiar with or have experience with Toxic and Combustion.
*Support the success of Autodesk resellers and dealers by mentoring and training reseller personnel on technical demonstrations, new software, and marketing messaging
*Assist in establishing metrics for quantifying the customer’s return on investment and justification for solution investment
*Develop proposals in conjunction with consulting services for implementation of Autodesk solutions
*Identify areas of opportunity for customer process improvement
*Identify and propose options for improvement or resolution of customer issues and relate those solutions directly to the customer’ business goals/issues
*Be prepared travel as needed up to 50% of the time, both locally and globally to assist with demos, training and trade shows.
*Perform in-depth assessment of customer processes and workflow
*Work with sales to utilize Target Account Selling practices during the sales cycle
*Engage in strategic account planning with the sales representative throughout the sales process
*Maintain and grow respected, trusted advisor relationships with customers and members of the Autodesk sales force involved with the opportunity
*Develop long term customer relationships and achieves customer satisfaction goals.
*Perform analysis and lead discovery of adjacent opportunities
*Investigate, uncover and understand a customer’s business issues
*Take ownership of technical sales opportunity
Requirements:
*Three or more years experience in post-production or related industry
*Advanced hands-on knowledge of at least two professional, high end editing/compositing post production applications, ideally Autodesk products.
*Ability to effectively communicate proposed solutions to clients.
*Willingness to speak in front of groups.
*Ability to effectively demonstrate Autodesk solutions to potential customers
