About

Now based in Sydney and Melbourne, FremantleMedia Australia was formed in 2006 by the merger of Crackerjack and Grundy, who had both been acquired by FremantleMedia.

A forerunner of original comedy programming, Grundy created Comedy Inc, The Chaser Decides, So Fresh, Australia’s Brainiest Kid and The Biggest Loser.

Grundy was formed by Reg Grundy and started out with The Wheel of Fortune, which aired in 1959. The production company has had a string of hit in the serial drama genre: The Young Doctors, Sons and Daughters and Prisoner.
Neighbours launched in the mid-80s and was deemed an instant success. It is UK broadcaster, ‘5’’s highest rated daytime show.

Today, FremantleMedia Australia remains the market leader with hit shows such as Masterchef, So You Think You Can Dance, Australia’s Got Talent, The Farmer Wants a Wife and the award winning, Choir of Hard Knocks.
