About The Job
An opportunity exists for a Duty Maintenance Technician based at our Sydney Broadcast Centre, Martin Place. The Duty Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting all broadcast and IT equipment for the facility.
This position involves the maintenance and support of all studio facilities for all programmes passing through the facility, with additional engineering support to News Camera crews and News Cruiser Vehicles.
To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in a similar role, possess excellent Video Server knowledge and will be proficient in networked devices. Knowledge of analogue and digital television fundamentals and IT based infrastructure is essential. Any exposure to the maintenance of the DVC Pro / Sony XDcam/ Quantel / iNews / Viz / Final Cut Pro range of products will be highly regarded.
You will also have strong communication skills, good organisational and time management skills and have the ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment. You will be capable of immediate problem solving, forming productive relationships with other staff and be able to work independently.
This position involves 24/7 shift work, working on rotating shifts to cover the operational needs of the business. The role may also involve occasional detached duty domestically or overseas, for operational or training requirements, therefore a current driving licence and passport would be advantageous.
