About The Job

Our radio station in Melbourne has a vacancy for a highly motivated Content Director able to thrive in a time critical environment. Working to the Local Content Manager in Victoria, you must be able to create engaging cross-media content for the local audience.

The Content Director provides high level leadership in editorial decision making, develops strategies to build and maintain audiences on air and online and manages human and content resources. The Content Director's role includes the generation of strong content and development of original ideas for station activities.

Selection Criteria:

You must be able to demonstrate knowledge, qualifications and skills at a highly advanced or outstanding level in the following:

Content:

1. Proven experience in the creation and evaluation of contemporary cross media content, including presenting material to air, in a contemporary manner with an audience focus.

2. Strong editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse complex information and exercise sound judgement. Can use all software and hardware relevant to this role as well as being aware of emerging technologies

3. Detailed understanding of the issues that affect the local audience.

Management:

4. Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor a team in a way that inspires, motivates and equips them to make outstanding cross media content.

5. Proven ability to provide significant input into shaping station sound and online content to build audiences.

Personal Work Style:

6. Thrives on challenge and can cope with pressure in a time critical environment.

7. Proven ability to work effectively as an integral and positive member of a small team.
