About The Job

We are seeking a CGI Supervisor with experience across 2D and 3D pipelines to join our team. The Studio Supervisor is the key link between the Head of Creative, the Creative team, Producers and Management. The function of this role is to ensure all the work in the studio is managed to its best potential and optimized in term of resources, technical pipeline and process. The Studio Supervisor is also the main point of contact for producers and the Head Creative Director for job progress status and resource allocation.

Ideally the Studio Supervisor will have a background as an artist / operator to help work hands on when required on jobs in production.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and oversee technical aspects of all studio jobs.
- Collaborate with Producers to provide: technical breakdown, team requirements, schedule and estimates for quoting and budgeting purposes.
- Assist the Head of Creative ensuring creative resources are allocated and scheduled across multiple projects to meet deadlines and ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Monitor all technical aspects of the studio (software, hardware, training), research and make recommendations for improving workflow to support the growth of the studio.
- Give technical advice in order to find the best solution for each project in terms of meeting milestones, budget and in particular the creative result.
- Set up appropriate project pipeline and workflows.
- Assist with enhancing the pool of creative talent to draw on as freelancers (local and international) and support suppliers.
- Mentor junior staff and actively develop the skills and careers of those under your direct supervision.
- Providing Project Leads with clear strategies to achieve miles stones and deadlines.

General Responsibilities :

- Supervising projects from a technical point of view, including on set supervision when needed.
- Monitor with Producers and Head of Creative the jobs in progress.
- Liaise with the Producers for booking internal resources on jobs.
- Help Recruitment Manager assess and interview candidates for creative studio roles.
- Ensure all designers are adequately briefed/assets ready on their jobs prior to commencement.
- Manage the render farm scheduling and liaise with IT where needed to resource additional machine hire or outsourcing.
- Work with Management to implement systems through the company to improve workflow and profitability.
- Conduct weekly resources meeting with department heads to advise weekly work plans.
- Ensure the work moves through the building in order to streamline obstacles and overload.
- Identify and address team strengths and weaknesses and assist with making the best use of abilities and upskilling where needed.
- Develop documentation, training programs to enhance the capabilities of the core team.
- Client liaison when required; however this is not a primary function of the role.

Required Skills :

- Solid understanding of digital design, media production techniques, technologies, post production processes and work flows.
- Conversant with and working knowledge of a range of CGI applications including but not limited to; 3D (Maya, 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, Nuke, Shake) and 2D packages, Adobe CS creative suite.
- Experience with infrastructure requirements and render resources.
- A minimum of 10 years 2D and 3D production experience in a series of successive roles including at least 2 years as a Supervisor and/or Lead capacity.
- Accumulated skills over a variety of studios and facets of the industry; film, tvcs, broadcast, interactive projects, large scale projections.
- On set supervision experience essential.
- Experience with a Stereo pipeline helpful.
- Good design / creative eye and ability to identify talent to be developed.
- Sound judgment in balancing creative and strategic priorities.
- Strong people skills and ability to work well in a team and develop team building strategies.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities tempered with empathy and collaboration.
- Patience, ability to multi task and good stress management skills essential.
